DIY Natural Hand Sanitizing Mist with Essential Oils
I’m writing this in 2020…and as you all probably know by now, there are some threats to our health going around right now.
Demand is high for hand sanitizer and stores are running out. But did you know that it is super simple and fun to make your own?
This is my personal favorite DIY hand sanitizing mist recipe and now you can make it too. Have oil questions? Reach out to me via email at aishaharley@comcast.net to schedule a free oil consult.
Ingredients:
4 tsp rubbing alcohol at 90% (ethyl or isopropyl alcohol) OR 180 proof vodka will work
1 tsp fractionated coconut oil
30 drops of DoTerra On Guard essential oil (If you do not have OnGuard use DDR Prime oil blend. And if you do not have DDR Prime, use Lemongrass, Tea Tree and Eucalyptus)
Combine ingredients in a 30 ml glass spray bottle. Please only use glass- DoTerra oils are very strong and break down cheap synthetic chemicals, so glass is needed to properly hold the oils. One ingredients are mixed, top off with distilled or filtered water. Boom…you’re done!
Where can I get these ingredients/supplies?
30mL spray bottles can be purchased in the accessories section of your shopping tab from doTERRA. Or, recycle and reuse empty bottles you have on hand! When you start using DoTerra, save your bottles for later to reduce, reuse and recycle. There are so many great things we can do with these high-quality glass bottles!
NOTE: This recipe meets the CDC recommendation to have an alcohol content of at least 60%. The fractionated coconut oil (or aloe vera or witch hazel) provides moisturizing benefits but is not needed. The more of these moisturizing products you put in, the more they dilute the alcohol to a lower percentage, so be careful when diluting.
If you have the pre-made On Guard Sanitizing Mist from doTERRA, it contains 64% alcohol.
A special Thank you to @essential_living for this info.
