Gua Sha Facial Massage with Essential Oils: Webinar Included
If you want to make your skin tighter, brighter and more even in tone, I highly suggest you try the Gua Sha technique.
You have probably already heard about using Jade Rollers on your skin. But have you tried using a Gua Sha tool? This specifically can help increase circulation in the face and ease wrinkles.
Good Housekeeping even suggests that by using Gua Sha tools on your face, you may be “preventing and treating saggy skin, brightening complexion, and healing dark circles, rosacea, and scarring.”
This is a wonderful way to give yourself a mini self-care spa treatment at home on a budget!
I will teach you below how to do a simple Gua Sha on your face at home and which essential oils I like to use when using my own Gua Sha stone. I’ll include suggestions for every budget, from Beginner to Luxe!
Scroll all the way to the bottom to watch the webinar. In the video, doTERRA Leader Emily Mieren teaches us how to use our Gua Sha stones for the right kind of pressure!
I hope you try this out.

#1: Wash your face
Wash your face before you do anything else! I like to rinse my face with warm water and cleanser to open my pores.
#2: Tone your Skin
Use your favorite toner to tone your face prior to using essential oils and your Gua Sha stone! This is a very important step.
#3: Apply essential oils
This is where the essential oils come in! If you’re new to using essential oils, skincare is an excellent place to begin. I will give you some suggestions for my personal favorites for skincare. Using essential oils on your face can be beneficial for cell health, easing wrinkles, increasing vibrance and radiance, and helping avoid acne. I began using oils on my face a little over 10 years ago and my face is actually tighter and more vibrant than it was back then.
To use essential oils during Gua Sha, first apply the oils to your face and then use your Gua Sha stone to apply pressure to the face. See the webinar below for a tutorial!
On a Budget - Lavender, Cedarwood or Magnolia
Lavender evens the skin tone and is an excellent choice for greasy or acne-prone skin.
Magnolia is specifically helpful for puffy, dark under-eye circles. I like to use doTERRA Magnolia when I Gua Sha in the morning because I sometimes wake up with dark circles and I want to nip them in the bud right away! I love Magnolia and I suggest if you have dry or combination skin - but it may add too much oil if your skin is on the greasier side.
Cedarwood is useful for inflammation and breakouts.
Luxurious Skincare Oils - Helichrysum, Frankincense, Immortelle, or Rose
Helichrysum is known as the immortal flower for its anti-aging properties. Helichrysum can help you get your glow on! It is what I use when I need radiant, vibrant skin.
Frankincense promotes healthy cell regeneration. If you have sun spots, troublesome moles or uneven skin, you definitely need Frankincense!
Immortelle Blend is a combination of Helichrysum, Frankincense, Lavender, Rose, Myrrh and Sandalwood essential oils. It’s a luxury skincare blend in a roller bottle for easy application. This blend is made of pure essential oils with no additives or carrier oils. It’s strong and renowned for its anti-aging benefits!
Rose is the ultimate Queen of skincare oils. It is also extremely luxurious. Pure Rose is more than an essential oil - it is a high-quality, unparalleled skincare product. There is no comparison to pure doTERRA Rose essential oil on the market and I use it sparingly, but I definitely use it in my Gua Sha routine. Just 1 single drop is plenty!
Since it is the most expensive essential oil from doTERRA, reach out to me to find out how to save doTERRA points so that you can get it for free.
#4: Gua Sha!
Use your Gua Sha facial stone at a 15 degree angle and don’t pull on your skin too hard. Apply pressure with your skin and move the essential oils around your face and increase your stimulation. Watch our webinar with Emily Mieren below to watch it in action!
Note: Apply moisturizer, makeup etc AFTER you Gua Sha!
You can get a Gua Sha stone from this website or from your local health food store or skincare spa. There are different types of stones, so ensure that you are getting a facial stone rather than a body massage stone.
